A Star Was Born

Two versions of the same night-city signature banner, "A Star Was Born, Who Out Shone Us All", with different type treatments.

Wide banner: a figure in a black leather jacket on the left, against blurred night-city lights, with "A Star Was Born" and "Who Out Shone Us All" in glowing gold type.

About this piece

Two versions of this banner survived, so they live here together. The picture is the same in both, a figure in a leather jacket against blurred city lights at night. What changes is the title: one has glowing gold type, the other cut-out, outlined lettering.

I’m honestly not sure which came first. Either way, it’s a nice little record of me trying the same idea two ways to see which one landed.

The photography is third-party. My part was the editing, colour, layering and type.
