Mersus Technologies — Wireframe to Colour

A two-part post looking into a VR headset: first the neon wireframe stage of building a VR scene, then the same scene fully coloured and rendered.

Looking into the lenses of a VR headset, each showing brightly coloured illustrated people wearing headsets, with 'Limitless Potential' beneath.

Part of a series of social posts I designed for Mersus Technologies, a company building virtual-reality training, and its platform Avatar Academy.

The idea

Show how a VR experience is built, going from wireframe to finished world, using a simple before-and-after.

The design

Both posts look straight into the lenses of a headset from the wearer’s point of view. In the first, the scene in each lens is only glowing neon outlines, like the wireframe stage of building 3D models. In the second, the same figures are fully coloured and shaded. Keeping the headset, framing and “Limitless Potential” line identical across both lets the change in the lenses tell the story, so the pair works as a carousel or as two posts back to back.

Wireframe stage — the inside of a VR headset, with neon outline figures drawn in glowing line work in each lens.
Stage 1: the wireframe.
Full-colour stage — the same headset view, now with the figures fully coloured and shaded.
Stage 2: fully coloured and rendered.
